Tryptase, study 1
Two investigations conducted by Garvey et al. (2010a,b) involved a total of 438 patients undergoing surgery of various kinds. The main objective was to study the level of serum tryptase and changes occurring in this during surgery, in particular in connection with an allergic reaction. Study 1: Serum tryptase was measured in 120 patients immediately before and after orthopedic surgery in general anesthesia. None of these patients experienced any signs of allergy during anesthesia.
